Hi, I’m Leah Aebly, a Visual Designer based in Staunton, VA. Originally from Maryland’s Eastern Shore, I honed my skills at James Madison University, earning a degree in Interactive Design with a minor in Communication Studies. With a passion for storytelling through visuals, I bring energy and creativity to every project. My experience spans healthcare marketing, social media strategy, content creation, and integrated communications—helping brands craft compelling, cohesive narratives across all platforms.
When I started at James Madison University, I was a pre-nursing student, hoping to find my passion in healthcare. But after two semesters, I realized I needed a field where I could truly express myself. That’s when I discovered the School of Media Arts and Design (SMAD) and found my calling in Interactive Design. Immersing myself in the digital world, I became captivated by visual design and the way people experience it. Over four years at JMU, I built a diverse skill set in graphic design, advertising, digital marketing, photography, videography, public relations, and UX/UI design.
Ironically, I found my way back to healthcare—but this time through marketing. My passion for helping people never left, and I love that I can make an impact by shaping meaningful, engaging content that connects with audiences in the healthcare space.
The School of Media Arts and Design equipped me with the skills to thrive in a variety of creative fields. I began my career at Augusta Health as a Graphic Designer and, within two years, was promoted to Visual Designer & Digital Strategist. In my current role, I craft content for social, digital, and print media while enhancing digital communications to strengthen brand connection, consumer engagement, and brand loyalty—all with the goal of driving growth for key service lines.
